Christmas Day 2011...

Another Christmas in Nice means another year of loading up on cheese, champagne, and the ever tasty Buche de Noel.  They make these awesome log cakes with little decorations for the holidays that are sooo yummy.  I've eaten so much in the last couple days, it's soup and salad for me for the next few months!!

So, the kids awoke and immediately got to unwrapping...they didn't even come to wake us up...

It wasn't until they got back into their room that they noticed Santa left stockings on their beds...

Daddy and Taylor took some time to play with Daddy's new chess set...

Even Grandpa got in on a game...

The boys set a lovely table...I felt very adult giving a Christmas dinner party...

Popping the crackers and party poppers and wearing our prize crowns...

After eating some fabulous lobster tails brought by our guests, J went to work carving the turkey...

For dessert, the most AMAZING ice-cream cake covered in a white chocolate shell...

Another awesome dessert...an all dark chocolate box filled with hand made chocolates...

And the all popular holiday cake here in France....the Buche...

Ending the afternoon with a little racing on Taylor's big pressie from Santa....

Thanks Santa for sending just the right pressies and thank you friends for joining us for Christmas dinner. We had a lovely Christmas and tomorrow we cheer the ending of a fabulous year full of changes and adventures along with the new year that holds many more.  I'm already looking forward to next year's cakes!
